Trails on the Asian Side
Thanks to the arrival of autumn and falling temperatures, it is time to enjoy the weather outdoors! Walking is the ideal activity to stay fresh and get rid of urban stress. Of course, walking on yellow leaves covering the ground is something else! So, we have compiled for you five walking trails where you can enjoy walking on the Asian side.
Fenerbahce – BostancI
Being one of the favourite walking routes of residents of the Asian Side, the coastal road starts in Fenerbahce (Orduevi) and ends in Bostancı. Feel free to include Fenerbahce Park in your walk which quite resembles to Emirgan Grove with its countless flowers. Cyclists also prefer to cycle through this trail and you can see how far you have walked thanks to the signs showing the distance. There are also some places to take a short break and rest while the Marmara Sea and the Prince Islands accompany you!
Kuzguncuk – Salacak
Many places are available on the Asian Side to go for a walk, but for the ones wishing to walk long distances, the footpath from Kuzguncuk to Salacak in Uskudar is ideal. If you want to push your limits, just include Validebag Grove, a perfect hiking spot all year round, in your route. You can also watch the Maiden's Tower and an amazing view of Istanbul during your walk. This trail is preferable especially for morning walks.
Dragos Coast
Stretching from Maltepe to Kartal, Dragos Coastline is an oasis in the middle of the city with the green trees and deep blue sea. You will enjoy the breathtaking view of the Princess Islands while smelling the sea during your walk. Dragos Coastline is an attractive place for social life with playfields, picnic areas, and walking paths. You will be carried away by the beauty of the Prince Islands shining after the sunset.
Fethi Pasa Grove
Named after Fethi Ahmet Pasa who was one of the Ottoman Viziers, Fethi Pasa Grove offers you a walk full of oxygen in Pasalimanı District in Uskudar. Fethi Pasa Grove is ideal to enjoy autumn, inhale the oxygen, and escape from the chaos of the city life. You will have a great time among redbud trees and be accompanied by a great nature, an amazing Istanbul view in front of you starting in Sarayburnu and ending in Ortakoy. There are also some facilities where you can relax after a long walk in the grove.
Orhangazi City Park
The 120-hectar fill area on Maltepe Coastline offers you a wide range of activities apart from walking such as picnic areas, a cinder track, cycling path, football, basketball, and tennis fields, playfields for children and the Survivor Island. You may run in the 1900-metre running track or watch the view of the Prince Islands while walking among tulips.
